Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?
Because of its high good reputation in excellent teaching, employment after study, friendly environment. The list is endless.
What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?
Newcastle is a fantastic place full of interesting bars, cafes and galleries. Its an extremely welcoming place and everyone is very friendly.
What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?
The environment, the people and the leisure centers. In fact, everything about Newcastle is especially beautiful, relaxing and generally an attractive place to be.
Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?
Oh yes, although on my first day I was very nervous. But the staff (teaching and support) were just wonderful people, and I believe that if you feel welcomed and valued, you won't have a problem fitting in. Secondly the environment is the most attractive, tidy and relaxing place.

Who has inspired you most at Northumbria University?
My lecturer. I think she is a genius. Whenever I feel confused or don' understand, she's there to keep on inspiring me to read more and keep trying.
What is your favourite place on campus?
The library.
Have you joined any sports teams, clubs or been involved in any volunteer projects? Tells us about the highlights?
I have joined leadership group and am part of mental health group which would be launching fully in September this year. The purpose of this club is to raise mental health awareness and reduce stigma.
What is the best thing about your course?
There is so much variety. There are labs, a crime scene house and classroom interaction. There is plenty of time for private study for those, like me, that need a bit more time to get to get your head around the Chemisty.
What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?
There is no health without mental health.
What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?
Care, compassion, empathy, communication, courage, competency and commitment.
Have you worked on any projects with businesses or been on a placement? What were your most memorable experiences?
Yes I took part in a placement. The staffs were great and really helpful.
How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at Northumbria University, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?
My perception of things in general has changed, I'm more confident within my self.
If you had 3 words to sum up your time with us what would they be?
It's worth it.
