Salam -zaidiAim of project:

To study the characteristic of Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Lasers by optical feedback and optical injection and to improve the performance of VCSEL devices for optical communication applications.

Specific objectives: Investigating optical properties of VCSELs such as
polarization switching; dynamical instabilities; relative intensity noise;
chaotic dynamics and other behaviours by optical feed.

Motivations: There is a need to increase the security protection of data being transmitted in order to prevent hacking of information and systems intrusions. VCSELs exhibit unpredictable chaotic and dynamic properties especially when it is subject to an external optical feedback, thus making them a promising candidate for transmission sources in chaotic optical communication systems. Therefore, these reasons give justified to undertake VCSELs properties in-depth investigation to fulfil basic performance requirements for wireless communication system.
