Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?

Because the BSc Quantity Surveying course in Northumbria University is recognised by the Malaysian Board of Surveyors.

What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?

The buildings such as bridges, town centre and China Town.

Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?

Yes, they even welcome us in airport during the first day we reached here.

What have you enjoyed most about coming to Northumbria University?

The style of study, it is relaxed, but I can learn a lot of things. Such as the project week, it increased my knowledge.

Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?

All my lecturers, staff, and seniors who took the same course with me.

Who has inspired you most at Northumbria University?

One of my lecturers, Mr Lei Zhou, shared his experience in UK and taught us how to study in the university.

What is your favourite place on campus?

Sport Central.

What is the best thing about your course?

The project week and dissertation.

What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?

Construction technology and practice specialisation.

What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?

I want to be a construction developer. I have learned how to cooperate with others during both of the project weeks.

Have you taken up any opportunities to travel with your current course/undertake field trips? If so, please tell us about them.

Yes - Amsterdam, London, Scotland, York.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

Newcastle is the most suitable city for students. The living style here is not really busy and everyone here is friendly

How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at Northumbria University, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?

More confident because I have improved my English language.

Would you recommend Northumbria University to a friend?

Definitely, yes!
