Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?

It's an excellent university, with great passionate lecturers, award winning technology and a fab employment rate after graduation.

What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?

I have lived in Newcastle all of my life, although sometimes it still shocks me what a lovely, friendly city we are!

Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?

Yes was very welcoming, felt like I fitted in from the day I started my journey! My guidance tutor was really nice and made me feel relaxed.

What have you enjoyed most about coming to Northumbria University?

I have enjoyed studying each module of my course and gaining knowledge from all of the skilled lecturers. They are all so passionate about nursing and it inspires us to follow in their footsteps. I also enjoy seeing my friends out of my class and chatting, whilst having a snack at the student union.

Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?

My guidance tutor has been a great help and my class have been very good as well as we are very supportive of each other.

Who has inspired you most at Northumbria University?

My guidance tutor and other lecturers who love nursing and have been in the career for a long time as you look to them as a role model.

What is your favourite place on campus?

I enjoy going to the student union for something tasty with my friends. The food is scrumptious and it's also very modern and trendy.

Have you joined any sports teams, clubs or been involved in any volunteer projects? Tells us about the highlights?

My whole journey has been great!

What is the best thing about your course?

Going onto placement and working with different professionals and learning from them.

What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?

To not think I'm in for an easy ride.

What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?

I have gained a great deal of skills and want to continue this development as there's so much more left to learn. I want to do a masters in public health and possibly become a health visitor.

Have you worked on any projects with businesses or been on a placement? What were your most memorable experiences?

I have been on placement. Every single day has been full of happiness, sadness, hope (every emotion you can think of) because each day something different happens and you meet new and inspiring people who really open your eyes.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

I would say to take a deep breath in and then let the non-stop journey begin! It's very tough but then nothing good in life is never easy.

How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at Northumbria University, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?

I feel as though I am a completely different person, I have defiantly improved in a good way and making my family proud.

If you had 3 words to sum up your time with us what would they be?

Exciting, challenging, inspiring.
