Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?

Because the University was quick to reply to my application, I liked the modules and staff experience in the field.

What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?

Newcastle is lovely city to study. Not too crowded and not too quiet, just the perfect balance. It is a nice city for sports fans, having Newcastle Football Club just around the corner is fantastic, then you have the rugby teams and awesome basketball teams so for a sports fanatic like myself, it is the perfect place to be. It is also a good city to party with interesting nightclubs to go to. The museums, castles, gardens are also a huge attraction in this town so there are always good places to visit all year round.

What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?

I definitely have to say the people. People from Newcastle and the North East are very friendly and kind.They are always willing to help others and share a good laugh,that was really one thing that impressed me and made settle easier. Being surrounded by such nice people makes everythingsomuch easier when you are far from your own country.

Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?

Yes it was easy to fit in and staff were very professional and helpful.

What have you enjoyed most about coming to Northumbria University?

I guess what I enjoyed most is the international environment in both my course aswell as at the University in general. Having people from all corners of the world had a huge impact in the way I learn and see things. I became more aware of my cultural values and learned to understand them from other culture´s perspectives and respect it. I really enjoyed the mix of nationalities at Northumbria.

What is your favourite place on campus?

Basement in the Library

What is the best thing about your course?

Mix of cultures and lecturers who know their field.

What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?

To dream big and not sell my skills and abilities cheap. To be a good sports manager i have to be strong enough to make difficult decisions. Smile.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

It's the friendliest city you could find to study.

If you had 3 words to sum up your time with us what would they be?

Excellent learning experience.
