What made you want to get into nursing?I’ve always wanted to do nursing since I was at school. I did my work experience in the hospital, but got into a job and a bit of a routine. Five years ago I moved back in with my parents and I thought ‘this is the time to do it’ so I went back to college and then onto university.
I was actually offered a place from both Northumbria and Teesside, but the placements at Northumbria and the reputation of the University really swung it for me.

I did my placements in Sunderland hospital and in the community at South Tyneside.
I now have a job as a district nurse in Sunderland. I love it as you can build up more of a relationship with patients when you go into their home. That’s totally different to being in a hospital.
