Where are you from?
Northumberland
Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?
It's close proximity to home.
What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?
Newcastle has been my nearest city since birth. I am passionate about our football club and love the Northumbrian coastline.
Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?
Yes, it was very welcoming. My lecturers are very friendly and always have time for you.
What have you enjoyed most about coming to Northumbria University?
Getting the opportunity to meet a range of different people from different backgrounds.I have met some amazing people.
Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?
Probably my lecturers.
Who has inspired you most at Northumbria University?
Again, my lecturers have inspired me considerably.
What is your favourite place on campus?
I like The Hub. It's a sociable place to work and there is always a social interaction with lecturers passing through.
What is the best thing about your course?
It's practical and we've had some useful field trips and seminars away from the classroom.
What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?
Don't let work build up - get it done as soon as you can!!
What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?
I want to be a property professional. All of the skills in my course are useful, but I think the social interaction I've had with my course friends and lecturers has helped to bring me out of my shell and give me more confidence.
Have you worked on any projects with businesses or been on a placement? What were your most memorable experiences?
I'm on placement next year.
Have you taken up any opportunities to travel with your current course/undertake field trips? If so, please tell us about them.
We had an interesting three days in London, where we visited a property journal's offices and went to the Olympic Park site.
If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?
It's such a friendly city as a whole. Newcastle gets a lot of bad press, but it's unfair and inaccurate. Student life is extremely welcoming and the city is so compact you'll soon know it like the back of you're hand - which is a good thing!
