Beverly is a sociologist by training with a background in power, discourse, labour, consumption and resistance. Beverly's PhD was on resistance to workplace surveillance drawing upon the work of Henri Lefebvre and the Situationists. As such, she is interested in precarious labour, alternative forms of organising and the impact of new communication technologies on work. Beverly's work is theoretical and qualitative with an interest in Critical Discourse Analysis. With an interest in the intersection of management thought and politics she is currently working on a number of projects on the anti-managerialism of Trumpism and the influence of management theorist Stafford Beer on other fields including music. She is keen to supervise projects on any of the above themes.
