Dr Jacqueline Hutchison

Assistant Professor

School: Healthcare and Nursing Sciences

Jackie is a dedicated and experienced Adult Nurse Lecturer with expertise in the NHS and University Sector.  Her specialist expertise is in Critical Care with particular emphasis on Intensive Care. She has a degree in Sociology and Social Anthroplogy. In her teaching role she has developed and lead modules in acute and critical care of the adult as well as leading modules that apply the social sciences to delivering nursing care. Throughout her career she has had responsibilities for programme management, module leadership and teaching on a range of pre-registration and post-registration programmes. 

 

Jacqueline Hutchison

Jackie's research interests have been influenced by the philosophical ideas of the lifeworld and the patient's experiences of long-term conditions.  Additionally, she is interested in how health policy, has been pivotal in transforming models of health delivery.  Her research has also considered how discourses of individualism, influence strategies for health promotion and behaviour change and impact upon the patient experience.
