Our Alumni - Work For Us
Dr. Mudassar Hasan is an experienced academic with over 15 years of teaching, research, and leadership experience across Pakistan, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. He completed his Ph.D. (Finance) from the School of Economics & Finance, Massey University, New Zealand.
Before joining Newcastle Business School, Northumbria University, he worked as a Lecturer/Assistant Professor at Lahore Business School, The University of Lahore, Pakistan, where he also headed the cluster of accounting and finance during 2014-2016 and facilitated most of the modules of accounting and finance. Dr. Hasan also served as a Contract Lecturer and a Research Associate at the School of Economics and Finance, Massey University, New Zealand, between 2016 and 2020. More recently, he worked at Teesside University International Business School (TUIBS), Teesside University, United Kingdom, where he contributed significantly to various areas of academic practice.
Research Interests and Scholarly Activity
Dr. Hasan's scholarly interests revolve around Financial Contagion, Uncertainty, Climate Finance, and Fintech.

- The Asian Development Bank's Virtual Workshop on Reforming Asian Utilities: Institutional Reforms for Boosting Private Investments held on November 18-19, 2020.
- The 23rd Annual New Zealand Finance Colloquium, Lincoln, New Zealand, 13-15 February 2019. The colloquium was hosted by the Faculty of Agribusiness and Commerce at Lincoln University in Lincoln, Canterbury, New Zealand.

He is also an Advisory Board Member of Heliyon Business and Economics and Advances in Decision Sciences.
Awards and Accolades
Dr. Hasan has received the following awards and recognition for his research output.
- Massey University 2020 Recipient of Dean's List of Exceptional Doctoral Theses for the Ph.D. thesis titled "Essays on Spillover Effects of Economic and Geopolitical Uncertainty."
- The University of Lahore 2022 Best Researcher Award for exceptional research output in 2021.
