BRAIN LAB

The internationally recognised Brain Performance and Nutrition Research Centre (BPNRC) has expertise in the investigation of the relationship between human nutrition and brain function and behaviour. The team is involved at all stages of research from protocol development to dissemination. Trials are conducted to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards within purpose-built facilities.

The Centre utilises a wide range of robust data collection techniques including cognitive assessment platforms like the Computerised Mental Performance Assessment System (COMPASS) and Cognimapp (a smartphone cognitive and mood assessment app), neuroimaging techniques such as Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) and Electroencephalography (EEG), and the psychobiological assessment of stress including autonomic nervous system and endocrine measures.
