Primary Education PGCE

Why did you choose PGCE Primary Education?

I chose the Primary Education PGCE course as the Ofsted report was excellent and I knew the schools in the area for when I had placements. Also, I liked the modules available and the way in which placements were spread over three schools.

What did you like most about the course?

I liked the support you received when in University and on placement, etc. Anything that you needed was provided by the tutors and other members of the University staff.

How did your degree prepare you for your current post?

It was a vocational course so I took the PGCE solely to become a teacher and I am now teaching Year 4 at a school in Peterlee.

Do you have any advice for anyone applying for the PGCE?

Be prepared to work harder than you ever have done before, but also be prepared to meet some amazing people and learn so much in a short space of time.
