Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?

Because of the course modules offered, and also because of the reasonable cost of living.

What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?

Newcastle is a nice place. Not too noisy or choked up. I also love the fact that it is by the seaside. Favourite things to do include strolling across the Tyne River, and visiting the Sage.

Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?

Yes I did. Both staff at all levels, and existing students made it easy for me to fit in.

What have you enjoyed most about coming to Northumbria University?

The study facilities are really impressive. The fact that education is mixed with volunteer and leadership opportunities is also something that I have enjoyed

What is your favourite place on campus?

The Library

Have you joined any sports teams, clubs or been involved in any volunteer projects? Tells us about the highlights?

I was Class Representative for my cohort (MPH January 2013). It was a great experience to meet with other course reps, discussing pertinent issues, crafting models and decisions that would in some way improve the whole student experience.

What is the best thing about your course?

The mix of students, which brings different values and opinions into almost every class discussion.

What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?

That education and learning goes beyond the four walls of a classroom.

What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?

Be a leader in the health sector. Delegation, leadership, and research skills.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

Norhtumbria is a good place to attend if you value formal education while realizing that not all education is formal
