What undergraduate course did you study and where?

I completed bachelor of computer application from Alvas College, India.

Why did you decide to study a Masters? 

I chose this course as at undergraduate level I studied computer application development and with this course I wanted to progress and master the uses of different computer applications in business, with an intention to develop both business and technical computing skills.

Why did you choose Northumbria University?  Why did you choose your specific course?

Northumbria University is well known for its innovation in education. It offered a research and project management module as the part of the course that I thought was a good combination.

What makes your course challenging/inspiring/different?  How would you sum up the difference between undergraduate and postgraduate study?

My course is different because it combines study of both computer and business application.  It’s inspiring as I’m learning about business which is an entirely new topic for me. On the other hand it is also challenging as it involves a real time project as a part of consultancy module where am trained to work with real data and solutions which I’ve found to be really good experience.

How connected is your course with industry?  Do you have the opportunity of a placement, or work on projects?

I worked on real time web development project for University staff which was good experience and a great success.  

What impressed you most about our academic staff?

Support and being kept up to date with information.

How accessible do you find our staff? 

Staff are so helpful and available to speak to when you have a question or query.

As a postgraduate student, what aspects of university life are important to you?

Student support and communication.

What doors do you think this course will open for you?

I feel this course has given me the confidence to start up my own business that aims to provide IT solutions to others businesses.

Have you changed as a person?

Yes, I now look at things differently and address decision making differently. I now take more time to analyse the situation from different points of view before making a decision.

How would you describe Northumbria in three words?

Support, professional and real.

Do you feel that your course has been a worthwhile investment in your future?
