His areas of research are corporate governance and corporate social responsibility, focusing on the influence of institutional frameworks in developing economies.
Franklin is currently engaged as a Graduate Tutor in the Newcastle Business School. He teaches on a number of modules within the Accounting and Finance undergraduate programme. These modules include Financial Decision Making, Introduction to Financial Accounting, Strategic Management Accounting, and Introduction to Managing Corporate Finance. Franklin is also involved in teaching two master’s level module (Corporate Social Responsibility for Multinationals and Fundamentals of Modern Financial Management). He is also involved in supervising both undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations.

I am working on a PhD thesis titled ‘An Assessment of Institutional Influences on Corporate Governance in Nigeria: A Multi-Stakeholder Perspective.’ I recently successfully defended the thesis. I am presently working on the corrections recommended by my external examiners.

A paper, Crafting a New Course for Corporate Governance Regulation in Nigeria , has been accepted for presentation at the 3rd Biennial Africa Academy of Management (AFAM) conference to be held from January 5-10, 2016, in Nairobi, Kenya.
