Dr Xiaoteng Liu

Associate Professor

Department: Mechanical and Construction Engineering

Terence Liu 2Terence joined the Faculty of Engineering and Environment at Northumbria University as a lecturer after 5 years holding postdoctoral research associate posts in Professor Keith Scott and Professor Paul Christensen’s groups at Newcastle University.

He studied metallurgy engineering from 2001 in Northeastern University, China. During the 3rd year, he was selected to join ‘3+2’ programme and received MEng (Hons) in Materials Science from Queen Mary, University of London. Terence’s PhD project ‘Design of electro-catalysts for direct methanol fuel cells’ was completed under a joint research program between Johnson Matthey Technology Centre (JMTC) and The Open University in 2010. During that time, he worked as a part-time researcher in the catalyst design team in JMTC.
