What appealed to you about Northumbria University / studying in Newcastle?

Finishing my degree from the Higher Diploma.

What was it about the course / subject area that particularly appealed?

This course can provide us with some specialised training in various aspects of the food and nutritional sciences including food product development and quality control, food processing technology, food safety, food service systems, dietetics and nutritional science, combined with an understanding of the sociological, psychological and economic factors that affect people’s food habits.

What qualifications did you have?

GCSE, A-Level and Higher Diploma of Nutritional Sciences.

How did you feel during your first week at Northumbria?

It is a very cyber and Hi-Tech University with good facilities.

What do you like most about the course?

This course gives me a great opportunity to gain some professional knowledge about food and nutrition. As we all know eating and drinking well can safeguard our health. It is important to be able to determine and choose the right food to consume.

What do you like most about Newcastle and the surrounding area?

The transport service here is good and very convenient.

What do you do when you’re not studying?

Shopping and sports, playing badminton.

What would you like to do when you graduate?

When I have graduated, I would like to work in a company or in a health department as a food product development and quality controller.

How do you get on with your tutors?

Good, I have a very nice and friendly tutor.

Do you have any advice for anyone applying for your course, or for university in general?

If your family can afford for you to come, please do. This is a great opportunity for broadening your mind.

Great University, Great City and substantial life here.
